Alex Hanbaek JOE
President | Chief Consultant
Mr. Alex Hanbaek JOE is the founder and principal consultant of Allied Partners Corp. Korea, a firm focused on providing advisory services to owners and top executives of mid-sized companies. These companies may be struggling with rapid changes in the business environment, experiencing growing pains during fast growth, or seeking to expand overseas while aiming to minimize trial and error due to lack of experience.
He holds an MBA from Cardiff Business School in the UK and a Bachelor's degree in Law from Sungkyunkwan University.
Before venturing into consulting, he served as the Head of Digital Business Division and Executive in charge of Corporate Strategy and Innovation at Hana Securities, the investment banking arm of Hana Financial Group. His responsibilities included a wide range of challenging projects, from digital platform innovation to strategic alliances and M&A in Europe and Southeast Asia.
His proven expertise in strategic planning, international business, and negotiations has been honed over 30 years of hands-on experience as a strategist and international business practitioner and consultant across the finance, retail, and manufacturing industries. He has worked with numerous renowned Korean and multinational companies since 1993.
After graduating from university in 1993, he began his career as a corporate finance analyst at Hanmi Bank (now Citibank Korea). He then worked at Hyundai Capital and Hyundai Aerospace (now Korea Aerospace Industries) before studying in the UK to earn his MBA.
Upon returning from his studies, he worked as a management consultant at PwC Consulting Korea (now IBM GBS), advising major corporations. He then returned to the industry, gaining diverse project experience at Good Morning Securities (now Shinhan Investment Corp.), DB Insurance, Hanwha Asset Management, CJ Foodville, Hyundai Elevator, and Hyundai Merchant Marine.
Notably, during his tenure at Hyundai Group's Strategic Planning Division, he established the group's internal audit organization and conducted management diagnostics, restructuring, and internal audits for group companies. After transferring to Hyundai Elevator, a global elevator company, in 2014, he was responsible for formulating the vision and strategy for global expansion and successfully established a joint venture in Türkiye in 2015.
He has demonstrated exceptional performance in international negotiations, successfully leading numerous overseas M&A and franchise projects in China, Vietnam, and Türkiye.
Billy Hyungdeug KIM,

Mr. KIM completed two years of French studies at Sogang University, graduated from Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in Law, and earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Korea University.
He joined Samsung Group through open recruitment and worked for 32 years, managing asset portfolios exceeding 100 trillion KRW at Samsung Life Insurance. His roles included human resources management, loan business planning, and loan business operations.
Additionally, he led Samsung Group’s MBB and business innovation projects, achieving approximately 50 billion KRW in cost savings. Mr. KIM was recognized as the Best Project Leader within the group and served as an excellent instructor in business innovation.
Sungin CHOI
Industry Advisor | Manufacturing, Financial Service
Mr. CHOI, is an expert in the financial business and machine tool industry who studied law at Sungkyunkwan University.
He began his career as a business planner at Shinbo Lease Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and, in the early 2000s, was the planning director of Japan-based A&O International, the Korea's ever-first registered micro finance company.
Until resigning as the director of the planning of Hyundai Savings Bank in 2015 to enter his own business, he has been a product development expert who has gained attention for creative products in the capital and savings banking industries, including Woori Financial.
Currently, he runs his own business that provides machine tool sales and installment financing to manufacturers in the metropolitan area.
Younghwa LEE
Digital Marketing Advisor
Ms LEE is a digital marketing professional with 20 years of experience. She graduated from Chungang University and earned a Master of Business Administration from Sogang University.
After a career as an outstanding digital marketing specialist at Interpark, the domestic ecommerce frontier, and KakaopPay, a payment service subsidiary of Kakao, she moved to the financial industry, then a maiden of digital marketing.
At Hana Financial and Investment (HFI), an investment bank, she led a newly-established digital marketing team. Under her leadership, HFI has become an industry leader through various marketing techniques and creative partnerships with platform companies.
Alongside with her advisory profession, she is currently actively working as a pottery artist.
Tiep LEE
Vietnam Market Advisor
Mr. Tiep, is a Vietnamese citizen born in Hanoi, Vietnam. He is an investment banker who studied marketing at Hague University in the Netherlands and gained his Asia MBA from Sungkyunkwan University in Korea.
After his MBA degree, he returned to Vietnam to begin his career as a financial analyst as an analyst at Thang-Long Investment, an asset management company established jointly by Thanglong Securities, a Vietnam's leading securities firm and Korea's Meritz Securities.
After that, he has built his career as a financial advisor and investment banker by working with the FAS of global accounting firms, and the M&A division at CJ Group in Vietnam HQ.
Currently he actively advises Korean financial and industrial players that have interest in investing in Vietnam.
